THE MODEL ( T;s ) UKULELE BAND        By Tim Madden

The newly formed Ukulele Band were delighted to be part of The Carlow Vintage & Classic Motor Club Field Day in August 2009. I suppose the idea of starting a Band happened while on a trip to Wales with The Carlow Vintage & Classic Motor Club. The group got together in the middle of May 2009 and started rehearsals which were great fun even though we had a lot of learning to do. The Band set out to be ready for their first gig on the 8th August 2009 to play at The Carlow Vintage & Classic Motor Club Field Day . The main reason for deciding on this gig was due to 5 of the Band members are also members of The Carlow Vintage & Classic Motor Club .This was also the main reason that the name of the Band is  The Model T’s Ukulele Band.

Our first gig was a huge success and was a great attraction for people attending the field day. The Model T’s Ukulele Band were delighted to be part of The Carlow Vintage & Classic Motor Club Field Day and are looking forward to be part of the 2010 Club’s Field Day on the 8th August 2010. The Band have performed for a number  charities gigs during 2009 and hope to continue their gigs during 2010.
