We kick off our members’ car feature with an absolute beauty by Leslie Hunter from Maganey, Carlow.
This is a 1973 5.3 V12 Jaguar E-Type.
Finished in beautiful British Racing Green, it has a licence losing top speed of 150mph, although Leslie, I am sure, will prefer to drive her much slower so everybody can appreciate its beauty. Leslie has had it for about 10 years now and he told us that one of its previous owners was a high flying pilot.
The body is absolutely beautiful with not a blemish in sight. An owner of three classic Jags, Leslie’s advice is always get the best to look after your car if you plan to keep it. His cars are stored in damp proof garages, free of humidity and dust.
Like all good classic car owners, Leslie drives this beauty regularly and you can be guaranteed to see this at one of our meetings across the year.
